How might we design a mobile app experience for Android and iOS that provides Lamb Weston customers with a way to earn and spend loyalty points?
Lamb Weston aimed to develop an engaging loyalty program that is straightforward and user-friendly. The objective was to empower restaurant operators to accumulate points and exchange them for rewards that enhance both front and back-of-house operations.
We developed the Potato Perks Loyalty app, designed to maximize user engagement with Lamb Weston. This app enables users to earn and redeem points while also providing access to essential operator resources, culinary inspiration, and industry insights to keep their restaurants competitive.
We wanted to lean on the Lamb Weston component library we had already created to make sure the experience felt like a cohesive part of the digital ecosystem.
We worked hand-in-hand with the business stakeholders, their third party rewards points API team and their contracted team of overseas front and back end developers to ensure a smooth transition between design and development sprints.
In order to be considered a success the application needed to address certain key goals:

The main features of the app focuses on earning and redeeming points and gaining access to valuable operator resources, recipe inspiration and industry insights
The app launched in connection with a marketing campaign and quickly generated a user base of over 20,000 businesses. Engagement between customers and their sales reps increased and positive feedback started flowing in. User redeemed a total of 500,000 rewards points within the first 6 months and the app generated a six-figure increase in company revenue.
